My element of photography

In class we have been learning about the elements used in photography and how to apply them when taking photos. We have also been learning how to use photo shop which more about that will come in my later blogs. Today I am going to show you an example of three different pictures using three different elements.

This picture is an example of framing. This photograph would be an example of framing because the house in this picture is framed inside of the window. It frames and focuses just on the house itself.

This picture would be an example of action. My dog is in action he is running with a dog toy in his mouth.
There is space in front of him for him to continue the action of running.

This picture would be an example of the element of lines. In this picture there are several forms of lines. There are lines on the floor connecting the tiles. There are lines in the cabinet. There are also lines on the back of the chair for the back rest.

Copyright Poadcast

In class we were to partner up with 2 or 3 other people in the class and make a podcast on copyright. The podcast had to have a situation in it dealing with copyright and what the person did and what the consequences were. Our podcast podcast was about a lady who illegally downloaded music from a program called frost wire which used to be called lime wire. She was caught and was charged with a fine which was 250,000 dollars.

The picture we have as our podcast picture is not copyrighted. We made this picture in Microsoft Paint and did not steal anyone's idea. Therefore it is not copyright infringement. Our music we chose in our podcast does not infringe on any copyrighted material also. The music we chose came from Garage Bands library. All Garage Bands music is listed under public domain. So, in our Podcast we are not breaking any Copyright laws.

We were given questions to answer about downloading music and copyright. Is downloading music wrong? Downloading music can be both wrong and right. It all depends on how you download it. If you buy a CD in the store and then go home and make a backup copy of your CD in case something happens to yours is the right thing to do. If you buy music from iTunes and make a mixed CD of all your songs for you to listen to where ever is the right thing to do. The wrong thing to do would be downloading songs from frost wire that would be the wrong thing to do because you are not actually paying for the song you are illegally downloading it onto your computer.

Should copyright laws exist? I think yes copyright laws should definitely exist. If copyright laws did not exist then artist and song writers would have no form of protection for their work. Anyone and everyone would be able to copy their work. The person who actually did the work would get no credit for it because other people would try and claim it and say that they did the work when really they did not

How would I feel if someone used my podcast or graphic without permission? If someone tried to use my work form my podcast I would be very mad and upset, because I spent so much time on it and the person who took it did not spend any time at all and there taking it and calling it their own work. There also taking it without my permission to take it.

Why is piracy so prevalent in our society? I think piracy is prevalent in our society, because many people are not really educated on what copyright infringement is and what is not or what they can and can’t download. Also I think that some people just don’t care that are committing copy right infringment. They think that they won’t get caught.

If you do your own work you will not be accused of Copy Right Infringement

The word copyright has many different definitions and many people think that it means many different things. The way most people get their definition of copyright is the way they were taught it, but one thing that everyone should know is that it is ILLEGAL in so many ways. At first I thought copyright just meant that you simply just asked permission to use or copy that persons work. Later I found out that I was wrong in a way but I was also right. The definition of copyright is the legal right granted to a person by law for publication, production, or distribution of their own work to other people.
For homework we were to talk about our thoughts on copy writing and to find an article that shows an example of copyright infringement or Internet piracy. In this article I found a picture of Obama that was drawn by the artist Shepard Fariey. The artist copied off of a picture that was taken by the Associated Press. The artists took the same pose and facial expression from the photo from the associated press and added some other things and called it her own work. She is breaking the law by using part of a photo from someone else and using it in her own work. The punishment was that Shepard Fariey was sued by the press for using the same pose of Obama that they had originally created themselves. I think that the punishment is unfair because Shepard did not copy the pose the way it is she added something’s and changed somethings. She used different colors and added the word hope. This would be her own work. She also added a pin on Obama's suit.
